Welcoming Dawn Ray Jacobs

Malvern Cube

Date & Time: Tuesday 11th November at 11am
Tickets: £6 (carers free)

Welcoming Dawn is a contemporary dance piece performed by an inclusive cast of learning disabled and non-disabled women.

Three women take on the duty of ensuring the sun rises by ‘dancing -in’ the dawn. Donning all their worldly goods they make their way to tops of mountains, deserted village greens and the sea to celebrate the rising of the sun. They bring in a new day, shedding the previous one and all its woes, by using touch, weight, momentum, balance, and flow as they journey together towards a new beginning.

This trio will be accompanied by an inclusive led by the cast of disabled and non disabled performers, exploring themes and set material from the dance performance.

Shropshire Inclusive Dance (SiD) is a company committed to inclusive dance practice. Since 2012 we have delivered distinct, exemplary and creative-driven dance projects, weekly classes and workshops and performance which facilitate individuals’ creativity, inclusion and community cohesion.
